By George Huang
This parable from Luke 5:37-39 teaches us two important lessons:
- How our life experiences (sin, sufferings, difficulties, etc.) transforms us from perishable grapes into wine which is something long-lasting.
- How we are like the wineskin and must be pliable and teachable so the winemaking process can take place in us. And we can be made flexible repeatedly so we can continue to make wine.
WARNING: I’m concerned that I might not have gotten the wine and wineskin issues completely correct. If you are very familiar with how wineskins are used, please send me more info if you feel I got the concept wrong.
