Initially given as a sermon at Chinatown Church of Christ
Scripture: Romans 6:1-10
This is a lesson for all considering baptism. Water baptism is one of the two ceremonies given to us by Jesus — the other being the communion. It is an outward demonstration of an inward commitment to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. I used the earthly rituals of burial and wedding to illustrate the meaning of water baptism so it can be more easily visualized.
Note: The meaning of baptism is universal regardless of how you do it. This sermon includes a discussion of why immersion is the right method for baptism. If you do not agree with this concept, just skip that section and take no offence. Please don’t e-mail me to argue about how should one do baptism.
